Delete your account
You can delete your Meliorly account yourself, from inside the app. It takes effect immediately and there is no undo.
From the app
- Open Meliorly and tap You in the bottom tab bar.
- Choose Delete your account.
- Read what will be removed, type the confirmation, and confirm. You are signed out straight away.
If you no longer have the app
Email privacy@meliorly.com from the address you signed up with. We will reply within 30 days and ask you to confirm the request from that address before anything is deleted — an unverified message is not something we will act on, because acting on it would mean deleting someone else’s account on a stranger’s say-so.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in details
- What you asked to change, in your own words, and every plan built from it
- Everything you logged, including setbacks
- Every message with the coach
- Every coach memory note, including suggestions you did not confirm
- Your reason for starting, and the moments you named
What is retained, and why
De-identified records of safety support, permissions, and the deletion itself. We keep which crisis resources and safety-rule versions were shown, the consent document version you agreed to, and the fact that an erasure was carried out. Deletion removes the link from those records to your account, and they contain none of your messages or goal wording.
A record that something happened, without what was said. We keep an audit trail that records events — that a plan was created, that the app showed crisis resources — identified only by a one-way hash. It holds none of your words. It is what lets us answer questions about safety after the fact, and it is the reason we can delete everything else without losing the ability to account for how the product behaved.
Encrypted backups, for up to 30 days. Deleting removes your data from the live system at once. Database backups expire or roll off on the provider’s schedule, and until they do an encrypted copy can remain there. We do not restore from them to bring anything back, and we would rather say this plainly than claim an immediacy we cannot pass our own test on.
Payment records, where the law requires it. If you bought a programme, payment-provider and app-store transaction records are kept for tax, accounting, refunds, and chargebacks. The fact that an invitation code was used also remains so the same seat cannot be redeemed twice. These records contain no health information.
Provider follow-up is recorded separately. Deleting in the app completes removal from Meliorly’s live database. It does not invent confirmation from a provider: any separate provider workflow, backup window, or required retention remains recorded as open until it has a real outcome.
